New Years Resolutions or Not?

If you look up New Years Resolutions you will likely see that listed in the top 10 are to lead a healthy lifestyle, lose weight, get out of debt, find your soul mate, quit smoking, spend more time with friends, learn something new etc. Each year thousands upon thousands of people make New Years Resolutions promising for this year to be better than the year before.
However, last night I was challenged to not make New Years Resolutions but to instead choose to allow the Holy Spirit to have His way, to run after the Lord with all my heart this year and to allow my life to reflect His love in me. For HIM to shine through me that when others see me, they see HIM.

This year I will live:
 2 Corinthians 5:13-15
"For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. For the love of Christ love compels us, since we have reached this conclusion: If One died for all, then all died. And He died for all so that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for the One who died for them and was raised."

AND

Lord, this is my prayer this year. That your Spirit would so guide me that others don't understand it, that your glory is revealed as you live through me. That you become greater and that I become less. That I love with your love and serve with the hands you have given me, that I will live this year for the furtherance of YOUR kingdom and that everyday my heart will sing NO other name but yours, Jesus.
