Beautiful Things

One of my favorite songs as of lately has been Beautiful Things by: Gungor. Its a beautiful song that talks about the Lord making beautiful things from the dust and out of us. Sometimes our lives aren't so beautiful, we make them that way by filling our lives with sin. But the Lord makes beautiful things out of not such beautiful things. He needs to mold and make us, refine us. 

Psalm 66:8-12 

"Praise our God, O peoples,
let the sound of his praise be heard; 

he has preserved our lives 

and kept our feet from slipping.

For you, O God, tested us; 

you refined us like silver.

You brought us into prison

and laid burdens on our backs.

you let men ride over our heads;

we went through fire and water,

but you brought us to a place of abundance. 

This lesson in my life came full circle today. 

You see my sister found this several weeks ago and deemed it 'Dragon' - ugly looking thing, we had no idea what it was but put it in a jar to find out...

So here we are, several weeks down the road - we would check on Dragon a few times a week, look at him, but nothing had changed. Today I get a call from my sister with the exciting news, "I HAVE A BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY!" and then I received this picture... 

A Beautiful butterfly indeed...It is amazing that the Lord too Dragon and turned it into THIS! 

What a beautiful picture of what the Lord does in our lives as He takes our ashes of sin and failure and turns them into something BEAUTIFUL!
