Kupendwa Ministries

This past week, I had the privilege of meeting several Sisters in Christ. I'm amazed that hearts can be connected before friendships even begin - but I'm so reminded over and over again, especially in ministry. So this weekend I met Amy Washington founder of Kupendwa Ministries. As I sat and listened to Amy talk about her passion of stopping the orphan crisis and how the Lord has led her to begin this ministry I was so encouraged. Here is this 25 year old woman who is a full time mommy to 6 little ones (2- 3 year olds, 3- 2 year olds and 1- 1 year old) and yet the Lord has called her to begin a maternity home for teen girls between the ages of 12-18 years old in crisis pregnancies in Uganda. Amy works with local pastors in the slums, villages and cities to find girls who are in desperate need of love, nourishment and encouragement and support. Amy steps up besides these women to love them to Jesus, teach them practical skills such as basket weaving and agriculture and teach them how to be a mommy. You should go read more about the ministry of Kupendwa at http://kupendwaministries.org/ BUT here is how YOU can help! Below are some pretty neat things that Amy is selling to help support Kupendwa ministries! Below you will see what I have and the prices for everything. If you want to purchase something send me an e-mail at stephaniegodsgirl@gmail.com.

Even in the midst of my own fundraising to serve in Uganda in 2013, I truly believe that the Lord has called me to be apart of praying and supporting Kupendwa in this way - There is so much to say but I'll leave you with pictures of everything!

Calling prayer warriors big & small...

Where 2 or 3 are gathered....

He is there in the midst of them.

Scripture is God breathed, so I will stand on the truth that He hears each prayer and because of this verse I'm going to ask you to join me in praying.

In October of 2011 the Lord began breaking my heart and calling me to serve. Calling me to GO! So in December of 2011 I sat down with my family and asked them to support me where the Lord is leading me. He's leading me to Ekisa, to serve and love and be changed forever.

I've officially been accepted to serve at Ekisa in Uganda, Africa in the summer of 2013 but I need prayer about several things, first I'm praying that the Lord will provide a traveling companion so I won't be traveling from the states to Africa alone and second that the Lord will financially provide for all my needs.

Please join me in praying for a traveling companion & financial needs.

Bringing Freedom to the least of these...

Human Trafficking IS modern-day slavery
In 2010 the Lord broken my heart as I heard that girls here in the United States were being held against their will and being sold and/or traded for someone else's pleasure. It made me sick and when I heard that I needed to talk about it - I KNEW that was something that I could do. So I began talking about it, talking to classmates, family, friends, Scottish Rites, my church family, anyone who would listen I would tell.

This morning I was approached by a lady who heard me speak several months ago about the issue of Human Trafficking and about an organization that has stolen my heart. Their mission is to advocate and restore girls who have been caught in Human Trafficking, they have set out to raise awareness that Human Trafficking exists and that it can be ENDED in our lifetime.

She walked toward me and said, "My niece was approached by a guy on the internet who was in his late 30's she ran and told her mom and her mom contacted police, they caught the guy. But if I hadn't heard ya'll speak - I wouldn't have known and I wouldn't have shared with my family." and THIS is the reason that I continue to speak out, and continue to speak about the issue that no one wants to talk about or hear about because it isn't pretty. THIS story makes me smile and rejoice because lives are being changed and girls are being saved because these men are being brought to justice!

& I will continue to speak out until all of Human Trafficking is extinct and no longer in existence.
TALK ABOUT IT - It changes lives!

Have you ever...

Have you ever felt....LOST? In need of one of these...

Well maybe you have been lost but not this kind of lost. The Lord has been shaking my life HARD these past few weeks. I had the most humbling honor to play with 5 kids on Saturday. Giving a mom and dad some time for themselves and to get the house in order. So a friend and I decided to take on the task of taking them to the park to play - 2 parks to be exact. We had a BLAST! What a humbling experience as well to talk with a mom family who has given so much of themselves. Very Humbling experience. Then I went to a night of

Scripture. Prayer. Fellowship. Bible. Brothers. Sisters. Christ. Savior. Blessings.
Forgiveness. Redemption. GRACE. Healing. This is what that night consisted of and yet, I feel lost. Lost in a world that is not my home because

Philippians 3:20 "But our citizenship is in Heaven, and we eagerly await a Savior  from there, Our Lord Jesus Christ."

Father, help me to press on, knowing my home awaits me. Help me to be a good steward of my time and resources here on earth and to step out of the boat, to follow you in wholehearted obedience, so one day when I stand before you face to face I will hear you say, 'well done, thy good and faithful servant'

Thank Him...

Since receiving a devotion book entitled "Jesus Calling" by: Sarah Young in August from a mentor at my church, I have been going through it day by day. The Lord has crazy wonderful ways of speaking to my heart just as I needed to hear that. Today's Jesus Calling said,

" Speak to me candidly; pour out your heart. Then thank Me for the answers that I have set in motion long before you can discern results."

Thank you Lord for your Word and for using others in our lives. Help me to be still and rest in your presence.

Overwhelmed by Jesus...

He is teaching me to spend more time in...
His Word
...And less time on other things.

Psalm 119:11
"I have hidden your Word in my heart, that I may not sin against you."

Lord, Come in and fill me up with You - it is only then that I will have peace, Joy, grace, love and hands to serve with. Lord, humble me as your servant so that as I daily live - YOU shine!
